about

How Did It Get To This is about destruction, love, creation and losing it to rock 'n' roll. Originally released in 2009 in our former incarnation as We Rock Like Girls Don't, it is our real debut album and a missing piece of our story as Deux Furieuses. It is a transitional album going from early singles performed as a trio to our first tracks as a duo. Debut 7" vinyl single 'Rock'n'Roll Freak'/'Hip To You' received radio attention on BBC Radio 1 from John Peel, Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe and Alan McGee and the band recorded an XFM session for John Kennedy. After bassist Jen Simpson left, Ros and Vas recorded 'Violence', 'Dont Know What Love Is', 'Queen of Heavy Metal', 'Violence Is In The Air' and 'Photograph' as a duo to complete the album.

"How Did It Get To This is the kind of awesome rock record we don't hear often enough. Dirty riffs roar and screech against relentless rhythms and catchy pop choruses" 8/10 NME

"Pretty close to being the best new female rock band on the planet" KERRANG!

"A sound as heavy as Buckingham Palace and as wide as the M1 but with a vulnerablility reminiscent of PJ Harvey" 4/5 FINANCIAL TIMES DEUTSCHLAND

"Songs about dysfunctional, obsessive love or losing it to rock'n'roll pinball from the low-slung to the unhinged with great alacrity" THE SCOTSMAN
