lyrics
I WANT MY LIFE BACK
WHILE I WAS HEALING
A REVOLUTION
BECAME A BLOOD BATH
BEGGING THE QUESTION
HOW CAN WE STAND BY
WITH ALL AROUND US
THE PRICE OF OUR SILENCE
I WANT MY, I WANT MY
I WANT MY LIFE BACK
I WANT MY, I WANT MY
I WANT MY LIFE BACK
I WANT MY LIFE BACK
SOLDIERS IN HELMETS
DRAG ALONG THE GROUND
WOMEN IN NIQAB
WITH ROCKS IN THEIR HANDS
LET ALL THE WORlD SEE
WHAT WE HAVE BECOME
HOPE TURNS TO BITTERNESS
I WANT MY, I WANT MY
I WANT MY LIFE BACK
I WANT MY, I WANT MY
I WANT MY LIFE BACK
TO BE YOUNG
TO REDISCOVER
THE TRUTH IN SIMPLE CHORDS
THAT WAS VERY HEAVEN

The first disc shows The Joy Formidable at their very beginning, while disk two shows them in their current form, and they have never been better. The acoustic versions are complex and utterly beautiful. The Welsh language might be a bit strange for first (and second) time listeners but after a while it really comes together and the result is an amazing album. I've listened to the whole thing countless times and can't wait for more. Miguel R. Lima

Brooklyn's Groupie make post-punk that is at turns bouncy, scuzzy, joyous, and sharp, with a strong melodic core; this is their debut LP. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 19, 2021

"...an album that looks as much to this side of The Pond as the UK, She Makes War's debut album is a dark melange of 90s Riot Grrrl meets indie-pop meets disquieting ballads, all the time not missing a beat..."
